I sing because
when I sing I am transported
from the illusion of my individuality
into the embodiment of our connection
from standing still in time
to moving through past and future
convening across the continuum
from limits
into infinity
the voices of those who came “before” pour through me
and my voice pours into those who come “after”
when we sing we are transformed
from buildings and walls
to mountains, rivers, forests, lakes, planes and oceans
to a boundless expanse
to galaxies, stars, universes
the vibrations of air, connective tissue, muscle and neurons
the endlessly traveling waves
unlock layers upon layers of experience
the windows of time and space swing open
the boundaries of language combust
meaning is reinvented
connection is restored
